What is the level of diving PADI Scuba Diver?

The PADI Scuba Diver certification has two limitations:

  • First, a Scuba Diver certified diver can dive to a maximum depth of 12 meters within your limit of training and experience.
  • Secondly, always dive with a professional guide with inwater supervision, usually with a divemaster or a professional with higher rating.

The PADI Scuba Diver certification is recognized worldwide including recreational diving center operating under other diving agency.
Thereafter, you can upgrade to PADI Open Water Diver easily whenever you have the time or when you are ready to complete the course.

Scuba Diver Course – Training schedule

The PADI Scuba Diver Course takes 1.5 days to 2 days to complete.
With the Scuba Diver course and under the direct supervision of a PADI Instructor, you will learn the basics of scuba diving through some theory, pool training and practice with two dives in the sea.

Content of education

The course consists of three segment:

  • Pool session (confined water)
  • Two open water dives
  • Knowledge development

Confined water segment

In the pool with your instructor, you will learn the basic skills of diving. The purpose of the pool practice is help you:

  • to feel comfortable in the water and with your diving equipments,
  • practice your position and buoyancy in the water
  • how to dive safety.

The pool session is fun and it will allow you to dive in the sea with confidence.

Open water segment

The PADI Scuba diver course requires two open water dives.
During the two open water dives with your instructor, you will apply the skills in the sea and meet the performance requirements.
Your instructor will lead you for an excursion to explore the marine life of Gilis to a maximum depth of 12 meters.

Knowledge development segment

Study the first three chapters of the manual and answer the knowledge review questions at the end of each chapter.
Your PADI instructor will go through your answer to the knowledge review questions together, after, followed by 3 quizzes.
The three quizzes consist of a set of ten multiple choice questions (Multiple Choice Questions) each. It is necessary to have 75% of correct answers to pass. If not, you will have to re-do the quiz again.

Prerequisites for PADI Scuba Diver course

To register for the course PADI Scuba Diver, you must be at least 10 years.
